The 8th ranked (Class A) Tug Valley Panthers look to continue their hot streak as they travel to Welch to take on the Mount View Golden Knights on Friday.
The Panthers (5-1) will come into the game with freshman Preston May taking snaps at quarterback. So far, May has completed 52-of-85 passes for 764 yards, 13 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. May also has 9 carries for 76 yards.
Star running back Bryson Elia leads Tug Valley in rushing with 704 yards and 11 touchdowns on 67 carries. He also has 23 catches for 424 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Freshman Cameron Slone has 12 catches for 182 yards and 3 touchdowns. Buddy Marcum has 10 receptions for 161 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Mount View (1-4) has had two straight bye weeks, but the last time the Golden Knights played, they picked up their first win of the season, 12-6, in double overtime at Buffalo.
The Golden Knights have struggled at times this season, as they have only scored 18 points total so far. Hosting the Panthers will be quite a task for them.
The opening kick is set for 7:30 pm.
