Bledsoe Breaks School Record In Comets Win Over Wildcats

West Carter had lost two straight games and had been so close in every game this season. Friday night they would host Bath County and would break through to get their second win of the season with a 40-6 win.

The Comets would have a huge game from Dwaylon Dean. Dean would carry the ball 21 times for 112 yards and 4 rushing TDs. Hayden Hall would complete 11 of 19 passes for 158 yards and 2 TDs.

Hall connected with Kadin Thompson 5 times. Thompson would finish with 136 yards receiving. Kale Back had 6 receptions for 29 yards and 1 TD. Isaiah Bond had 1 reception for 3 yards and a touchdown.

Ethan Bledsoe would lead the Comets’ defense with 11 tackles including 6.5 sacks, breaking a school record. Peyton Walker had 7 tackles. Dwaylon Dean had 6 tackles including 1 tackle-for-loss. Tabor Tackett had 6 tackles including 1.5 sacks. In total the defense would record 51 tackles including 8 sacks in the game. Trace Rivers would also record an interception in the win.

Bath County (1-6) hosts Russell (5-3) this coming Friday, Oct. 13th with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.

West Carter (2-5) travels to Fleming County (4-3) this coming Friday, Oct. 13th with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.
