Bryson Elia found the end zone four times as the 8th ranked (Class A) Tug Valley Panthers picked up a road win over River View, 48-0, on Friday.
The Panthers (5-1) got on the scoreboard twice in the first quarter. Both touchdowns came on 1-yard touchdown runs from Elia. Aiden Bosserman made 1-of-2 PAT kicks to make it 13-0.
Elia got the scoring going in the second period with another 1-yard touchdown plunge to make it 20-0. Preston May then found Cameron Slone on a 19-yard touchdown pass to make the score 27-0. Later in the quarter Elia picked off a pass and returned it 74 yards for a touchdown and a 34-0 lead at the half.
The Panthers added to their lead in the third frame when May and Elia hooked up for a 60-yard touchdown pass and a 41-0 advantage.
Tug Valley’s final score came on a 7-yard touchdown run from Austin Smith.
May completed 10-of-14 passes for 159 yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.
Elia carried the ball 17 times for 140 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also caught two passes for 55 yards and 1 touchdown while recording a Pick-6 on defense. Smith had 26 yards and 1 touchdown on 2 carries. Derek Jewel had 1 carry for 25 yards. Michael Curtis had 5 carries for 2 yards. Adam Slone added 2 yards on 2 rushing attempts.
Buddy Marcum had 1 catch for 39 yards. Cameron Slone had 3 catches for 29 yards and 1 touchdown. Ashton Davis caught 1 pass for 17 yards. Smith caught a pass for 11 yards. Brady Brewer caught 1 pass for 10 yards.
Marcum and Dakoda Walker led the defense with 8 tackles apiece. Cameron Slone added an interception to go with Elia’s other interception.
Tug Valley will next play on Friday when they travel to Mount View. The opening kick is set for 7:30 pm.
