Paintsville Freshman Becoming a Big Problem in the Mountains

The Paintsville Tigers improve to 2-4 on the season with their win over East Ridge on Friday night, this might not be the season Tiger fans we’re hoping for but they’re is plenty of reasons to be excited about the future of the program! One of the biggest reasons to be excited is a star studded freshman class that includes stud linebacker Crayson Lafferty.

In 6 games this season Lafferty has racked up 71 tackles, 6 tackles for loss and an interception. For you non math majors that’s nearly 12 tackles a game for the rising freshman, he has been a menace to opposing offenses coming to his side of the field. Crayson is ranked #3 in Class-A in tackles and he’s ranked in the Top25 regardless of class!

This kid is one to get excited about, he is on the path of greatness with not just what he’s doing on the gridiron but off the field as well. The route Lafferty is on will possibly have him being mentioned in the same conversation as previous Paintsville linebackers like Kash Daniel, Mason Lovely etc.

Crayson has always been ahead of the curve with fitness, he’s been training like a High School player since 5th grade, as a 9th grader he looks like a young Lou Ferrigno and not many kids can say that. Lafferty is a 3 sport athlete that participates in Football, Baseball and Wrestling, he maintains a 3.5 GPA while staying active year round in athletics. We highly suggest recruiters get on Lafferty early because his recruitment is about to blow up, as he continues to put up mind blowing numbers in his first year of High School!
