Chapmanville Middle bounced back in a big way last Thursday, as they dominated Madison Middle from the start and scoring a 56-0 victory to move to 4-1 on the season.
The Tigers used an effective ground game from Jacob Maynard and Jaxton Ellison who combined for 135 yards on 12 carries and five touchdowns. Overall, Chapmanville rushed for 275 yards on the ground. While the Tigers dominated the ground game, Dakota Dalton was just as impressive in the air as he completed 7 out of 11 passes for 126 yards and 1 TD. The Tigers would total over 400 yards on offense in a time shortened game. Jacob Vance finished as the leading WR for the Tigers as he had 3 catches for 64 yards and a touchdown. Mattox Sartin had one rush for 26 yards and one reception for 19 yards. Cooper Perry finished with 3 carries for 67 yards and a TD. Sawyer Dalton also rushed for a touchdown and finished with one carry for 43 yards. Jaxton Ellison added 3 catches for 43 yards, and Chase Adams had 1 rush for 6 yards.
Defensively, the Tigers pitched their 3rd shutout on the season as they only allowed one Madison trip into the red zone. David Browning finished with 6 solo tackles and a forced fumble to pace the Tigers’ defense. Tony Adkins had 5 solo tackles and a forced fumble. Preston Collins was impressive from his safety position making 4 solo tackles.
