Morehead State Drops Third Straight In Loss To Drake

The Eagles of Morehead State were looking for their defense to show up. The Eagles were allowing 39.3 points per game through their first three games of the season. The Eagles would hold the Drake Bulldogs to only 16 points, however, the Eagles offense struggled against the Bulldogs defense. The Eagles would only manage to score 9 points in the loss.

The Bulldogs would strike first on a Dorian Boyland 64-yard TD run only 59 seconds into the game. The Bulldogs would find the endzone again at the 10:31 mark of the 2nd quarter when Luke Bailey connected with Trey Radocha for a 15-yard TD pass to push the lead to 13-0.

As time was expiring in the first half, Carter Cravens would connect with Ryan Upp for a 4-yard touchdown pass to bring the Eagles to within a touchdown, with the score 13-6.

The Eagles would kick a 27-yard field goal with 5 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter to make the score 13-9 in favor of Drake.

Drake would get the final score of the game with a 25-yard field goal by Shane Dunning to push the Bulldogs to the victory with a final score of 16-9.

The Eagles QB, Carter Cravens would complete 18 of 39 passes for 221 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT. Cravens would also carry the ball 11 times for 64 yards to lead the Eagles in rushing yards as well. Ryan Upp caught 10 passes for 130 yards and 1 TD.

The Bulldogs QB, Luke Bailey would finish the game completing 23 of 36 passes for 264 yards and 1 TD. Dorian Boyland ran the ball 15 times for 123 yards and 1 TD. Trey Radocha caught 6 passes for 79 yards and a touchdown.

The Eagles (1-3) will look to bounce back next Saturday, October 7th when they host the Dayton Flyers (2-3). Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
