Hatfield shines in Homecoming, Hoover defeats Chapmanville 49-23

Dane Hatfield was comfortable and confident Friday night, and it showed. Hatfield was responsible for 6 Huskies touchdown on the evening, throwing for four touchdowns and rushing for two. Hatfield threw three touchdown passes to Avery Pannell, who had a breakout game for Herbert Hoover.

For Chapmanville, it was a strong performance from the Tiger QB Robert Cook who finished with 190 yards passing as well as 47 yards on the ground. Austin Adkins was again a key part of the Tigers’ success offensively as he finished with 5 receptions for 126 yards. The Tigers got touchdown runs from Jeremy Collins (2) and Andrew Topping on the night, as the Tiger offense finished with over 300 total yards.

With the victory, Herbert Hoover moves to 4-2 on the season and Chapmanville falls to 3-3. The Huskies travel to Wayne this Friday night, while Chapmanville has a bye week. The Tigers still hold onto a playoff sports in this week’s rankings, coming in at #16 in the state of West Virginia in Class AA. The Tigers will host Wayne for Homecoming on October 13th.
