Strong Rushing And Defense Lead Bulldogs Past Engineers

The Lawrence County Bulldogs got 295 yards rushing and held the Estill County Engineers in check as they picked up a 33-12 home win on Friday in Louisa.

Lawrence County (4-1) got its lone touchdown in the first half when Cody Crum found the end zone from 4 yards out. Crum added another touchdown in the 3rd quarter when he took a handoff around the right side for a 46-yard scoring run. Caven Williams also had a 60-yard touchdown run in the win.

Quarterback Talan Pollock finished with 70 yards passing and 1 touchdown on 5 completions. He also had 8 yards rushing and 1 touchdown.

Crum finished with 146 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns. Williams had 60 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground. William McDavid added 54 yards. Kaden Johnson added 27 yards.

Abner Collinsworth hauled in 1 pass for 19 yards and 1 touchdown. Dalton Runyons had 1 reception for 18 yards. Carlo Chicko caught 1 pass for 13 yards. Crum had a catch for 13 yards. Johnson finished with 1 reception for 7 yards.

Defensively, Ty Brooks finished with 1-1/2 sacks. McDavid recorded 6 tackles and 1/2 sack. Luis Chicko tallied 5 solo tackles.

The Bulldogs will next travel to Belfry and take on the Pirates. The opening kick is set for 7:30 pm.
