The Pike County Central Hawks look to get back to their winning ways as they hit the road to face the Floyd Central Jaguars on Friday.
The Hawks (4-1) are led by freshman quarterback Jamere Knuckles. This season, Knuckles has completed 26-of-62 passes for 233 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. He has also rushed for 459 yards and 4 touchdowns on 86 carries.
Pike County Central is also led by a stout defense, led by Malachi Anderson’s 59 tackles, including 7 for a loss. Jayson Chapman has 5 sacks this season so far.
For the Jaguars (3-2), Colt Shelton has completed 23-of-54 passes for 446 yards, 5 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.
BJ Peterson leads the Floyd Central ground game with 80 carries for 456 yards and 7 touchdowns.
Brody Buck is the Jaguars’ leading receiver with 260 yards and 4 touchdowns on 11 catches.
This will be huge for each team at the midway mark of the season. The opening kick is set for 7:30 pm.
