Friday Night Football Preview: Scott Travels To Chapmanville In Battle Of Heavyweights

The 5th ranked Scott Skyhawks will face a huge test on Friday when they travel to Chapmanville to take on the 11th ranked Tigers.

Scott (4-0) will be led by star quarterback Matt Frye. Frye, who is the area’s leading passer has completed 56-of-83 passes for 1,272 yards, 14 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Frye has also rushed for 121 yards and 4 touchdowns on 16 carries.

Preston Cooper is Scott’s leading rusher with 41 carries for 376 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Scott has a trio of dynamic wide receivers. Carson Brinegar has 23 receptions for 475 yards and 5 touchdowns. Brayden Clark has 14 receptions for 390 yards and 3 touchdowns. Isaiah Bush has tallied 14 catches for 351 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Chapmanville (3-1) comes into the game with Robert Cook at quarterback. Cook has had a strong season so far, completing 23-of-45 passes for 386 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also leads the Tigers in rushing with 211 yards and 3 touchdowns on 43 carries.

Elijah Pridemore and Jeremy Collins have both done well carrying the ball this season. Pridemore has 14 carries for 165 yards and 1 touchdown. Collins has 28 carries for 154 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Austin Adkins is Chapmanville’s leading receiver with 312 yards and 1 touchdown on 11 catches.

This will be one of the biggest games of the young season so far and will do a lot to determine the rankings at the midway point.

The opening kick is set for 7 pm in Chapmanville.
