The East Ridge Warriors look to pick up a solid win as they host the Tug Valley Panthers on Friday.
The Warriors (2-1) are coming off a bye week but defeated River View, WV, 30-27, two weeks ago.
Landon Robinson has been solid this season at quarterback. So far, he has completed 26-of-39 passes for 313 yards, 4 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He also has 31 carries for 148 yards and 1 touchdown.
Isaiah Adkins is the Warriors’ leading rusher with 215 yards and 1 touchdown on 29 rushing attempts. He also has 15 receptions for 222 yards and 3 touchdowns.Steven Layne has 143 yards on 25 carries as well.
The Panthers (2-1) are coming into the contest ranked 14th in Class A after defeating Symmes Valley, OH, 51-8, last week.
Freshman Preston May got the start last week for the Panthers and completed 17-of-24 passes for 184 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also had 39 yards on 3 rushing attempts.
Bryson Elia had a monster game for Tug Valley last week. He had 10 carries for 129 yards and 3 touchdowns. Elia also had 8 catches for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Buddy Marcum has also been a strong target this season. Last week, he caught 3 passes for 40 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ashton Davis also hauled in 5 passes for 36 yards and 1 touchdown.
This game will be pivotal to both teams in the early season and serve as bragging rights along the border. The opening kick is set for 7:30 pm.
