Miners Stomp Raiders In Shortened Game, 32-0

The Mingo Central Miners won, 32-0, on Friday at Liberty-Raleigh in a weather-shortened contest that concluded before the end of the first half.

The Miners (3-0) scored all 32 of their points in the opening quarter.

Dylan Vance started the scoring when took the ball and raced 67 yards for a touchdown. Aidan Burke then picked off a pass and returned it 23 yards for a touchdown and 12-0 lead. Vance then scored his second touchdown of the game on a 9-yard run. Chris Ross completed the conversion pass to Burke for a 20-0 lead.

Vance then scored his third touchdown on an 8-yard carry to make it 26-0. The final score came when Ross hit Tyler Mitchem on a 23-yard touchdown pass.

With the win, Mingo Central is now 81-3 when scoring at least 30 points in a game.

Ross completed 2-of-5 passes for 62 yards and 1 touchdown.

Vance had 3 carries for 84 yards. Everyone of his carries went for a touchdown. Ross had 1 carry for 11 yards.

Mitchem finished with 1 catch for 23 yards and a touchdown. Malaki Sheppard finished with 1 reception for 12 yards

Taegan Hackney had 6 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 1 sack. Burke and James Moore snagged 1 interception each for the Miner defense.

Mingo Central will hit the road next week to take on the Man Hillbillies in a battle of 3-0 teams. The opening kick is set for 7:30 pm.
