The Raceland Rams invade Pikeville on Friday night to take on the host Pikeville Panthers in a rematch of last year’s 1A State Championship game.
The Rams (1-1) lost to Pikeville, 41-9, in the title game last season, but they come into this game looking for a bit of revenge and to make a statement.
Raceland is led by star quarterback Logan Lundy. So far this season, Lundy has completed 22-of-34 passes for 360 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. He has also rushed for 73 yards and 2 touchdowns on 27 carries.
Noah Wallace leads the Ram rushing attack with 182 yards and 3 touchdowns on 30 carries. Receivers Parker Fannin and Parker Ison are Lundy’s top targets. Fannin has 155 yards and 1 touchdown on 8 catches. Ison has hauled in 6 catches for 105 yards and 2 touchdowns.
For the Panthers (2-1), they come into the game with Isaac Duty under center. So far, Duty has completed 32-of-53 passes for 247 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. He also has 2 rushing touchdowns.
Brenden Anthony leads the Pikeville rushing attack with 258 yards and 4 touchdowns on 32 rushing attempts. Tayvian Boykins has tallied 175 yards and 1 touchdown on 24 carries. Blake Caudill has picked up 157 yards and 1 touchdown on 18 carries.
This will be one of the biggest games in the Commonwealth this weekend between two heavyweights.
The opening kick is set for 7:30 pm in Pikeville.
