Panthers Fall To Royals

Fleming County would hit the road, taking with them their 2-game winning streak. They would head north and travel about 25-30 minutes to take on the Mason County Royals. Fleming County was coming off a very impressive victory over Nicholas County with a final score of 54-12. After dropping their season opener to Russell, Mason County bounced back last week and defeated Montgomery County 34-14. Mason County would defend its home field and defeated the Panthers by a final score of 49-21.

The Panthers would be led offensively by Austin Trent who had 24 carries for 145 yards and 2 TDs. Panthers QB, Nate Martin completed 8 of 22 passes for 92 yards and an interception. Jordan Harn carried the ball 14 times for 96 yards, and he completed 1 of 1 passes for 21 yards and connected with Craig Lofton for a TD through the air. Austin Farrow had 3 receptions for 50 yards and Landon Johnson had 4 receptions for 38 yards.

Defensively the Panthers were led by Isaac Frye who had 8 tackles including 3 tackles for loss. Austin Trent had 7 tackles including 1 tackle for loss. Aiden Johnson had 6 tackles including 2 tackles for loss. Johnathon Hickerson had 5 tackles including 2 tackles for loss. Mason County was led offensively by QB Keshaun Thomas who completed 9 of 14 passes for 220 yards, 4 TDs, while running 11 times for 9 yards and 2 TDs. Trey Walker carried the ball 5 times for 35 yards. Kenton Johnson carried the ball 7 times for 20 yards. Cole Horch had 1 reception for 82 yards and a TD. Max Arrasmith had 3 receptions for 77 yards and 1 TD. Bryce Moran had 2 receptions for 69 yards and 1 TD. Landon Scilley had 2 receptions for 39 yards and 1 TD. Garryon McClain had 2 receptions for 37 yards and 1 TD.

Fleming County (2-1) will look to bounce back when they travel to Rowan County on Friday, September 8th for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

Mason County (2-1) looks to extend their winning streak to 3 as they host Boyd County (1-2) on Friday, September 8th for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
