The Ashland Tomcats traveled to West Virginia and secured a win over George Washington, 42-21, on Friday in Charleston.
LaBryant Strader had a huge game for the Tomcats (3-0). The quarterback completed 13-of-22 passes for 233 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also had 12 rushing attempts for 52 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns.
Atayveon Thomas led Ashland in rushing with 55 yards on 10 rushing attempts. Braxton Jennings had 10 carries for 49 yards and 1 touchdown. Cameron Davis had 9 carries for 37 yards.
Brandon Houston led Tomcat receivers with 84 yards and 1 touchdown on 5 receptions. Jennings had 4 catches for 82 yards and 1 touchdown. Nate Freize had 33 on one catch. Thomas had 1 catch for 26 yards and 1 touchdown. Asher Adkins added 8 yards on 2 catches.
Ashland will next play on Friday when they travel to Bardstown (1-2) for a 7:30 pm kickoff.
