After struggling last week offensively against Shelby Valley, Lawrence County was looking to get back to their winning ways. Lawrence County would host Perry County Central, who would enter Friday night’s matchup undefeated at 2-0. After only managing to gain a total of 37 yards offensively last week against Shelby Valley, coach Short, and the Bulldogs offense looked to get back on track.
The Bulldogs would strike first with a Cody Crum 1-yard touchdown run. Perry County would strike back when QB Kizer Slone connected with Noah Kilburn for a TD, that resulted in the Commodores taking a 7-6 lead. The Bulldogs would then take complete control of the game by scoring 38 straight points. Lawrence County would retake the lead after QB Talan Pollock would connect with Kaden Johnson for a 44-yard TD. Pollock would then connect with Jake Derifield for a 76-yard TD. The Bulldogs would go into halftime with an 18-7 lead. The Bulldogs would score again in the third quarter with a 1-yard touchdown run from Will McDavid. In the 4th quarter Pollock would connect with Carlo Chicko for a 23-yard touchdown pass. Talan Pollock would then carry the ball for a 16-yard touchdown run. Dalton Runyons would run the ball in for the 2-point conversion to put the Bulldogs up 38-7.
Perry County would score 1 more time with 42 seconds remaining after a Seth Jackson 3-yard touchdown run. For the third straight game, the Bulldogs defense only allowed 14 points.
The Bulldogs were led offensively by Talan Pollock who had 218 yards and 3 TDs through the air on 10 of 14 completions, and 72 yards on the ground with 1 TD. Cody Crum has 10 rushes for 103 yards and 1 TD. Kaden Johson had 2 receptions for 47 yards and a TD. Jake Derifield had 1 reception for 76 yards and a TD. Carlo Chicko had 5 receptions for 53 yards and 1 TD.
Perry County Central QB, Kizer Slone was 15 of 27 for 178 yards and 1 TD. Seth Jackson carried the ball 15 times for 78 yards and a TD. Noah Kilburn had 8 receptions for 104 yards and a TD.
Lawrence County (2-1) has a bye this week and will be back in action on Friday, September 15th when they travel to Harlan County for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
Perry County Central (2-1) will host Bell County this coming Friday, September 8th, for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
