The Wayne Pioneers look to continue their strong start, but standing in their way is a powerful Scott Skyhawk team as Wayne will travel to Madison to take on Scott on Friday.
Wayne (1-0) defeated Tolsia, 41-0, in its opening game. The Pioneers scored all 41 points in the first half and cruised the rest of the way.
Quarterback Fisher Fry had a great game, connecting on 6-of-14 passes for 126 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also had 4 carries for 61 yards and 1 touchdown.
Ronnie Staley had a great game receiving, hauling in 2 passes for 46 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Kaiden Hayton and Jaxson Damron also look to impact the game on Friday.
For Scott (1-0), the Skyhawks come into the game after drubbing Herbert Hoover, 50-19.
Star quarterback Matt Frye had a monster first week. He completed 13-of-18 passes for 276 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also rushed for 18 yards and 1 touchdown on 4 carries.
Carson Brinegar had a huge first game, racking up 125 yards and 2 touchdowns on only 4 carries. He also had 5 catches for 87 yards and 2 touchdowns receiving. Preston Cooper added 122 yards rushing and 1 touchdown on 17 carries.
This match up will be huge for both teams. The opening kick is set for 7:30 pm at Scott High School.
