FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL PREVIEW: Miners Look To Take Down Renegades

The Mingo Central Miners will look to build off last week’s win, but standing in their way is the visiting Westside Renegades. The two teams will lock up on Friday in an important early season clash.

Mingo Central (1-0) comes into the game after a 38-0 road win over Tug Valley last week. Quarterback Chris Ross had a fantastic game, completing 11-of-17 passes for 148 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception while also rushing for 68 yards and 1 touchdown on 11 carries.

Dylan Vance was a major weapon for the Miners last week. He 87 yards and 1 touchdowns rushing while also hauling in 5 passes for 59 yards and 1 touchdown. Aidan Burke also had a huge game, hauling in 2 passes for 50 yards.

For Westside (1-0) enters the contest after a dominant win over Wyoming East, 60-6, last week. Quarterback Kadien Vance had a great outing, completing 10-of-20 passes for 158 yards and 1 touchdown. He also had 19 carries for 115 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns.

Brody Cline also had a big game for the Renegades. Cline carried the ball 9 times for 86 yards and 2 touchdowns.

This will be a huge game that will help set the tone for both teams.

The opening kick is set for 7 pm on Miner Mountain.
