The Pikeville Panthers picked up a huge win as they defeated the Johnson Central Golden Eagles, 21-14, at home on Saturday in the Pike County Bowl in Pikeville.
For the Panthers (2-0), Isaac Duty completed 3-of-10 passes for 33 yards. All 3 receptions were made by Tavian Boykins.
Blake Caudill led all rushers with 6 carries for 110 yards and 1 touchdown. Brenden Anthony had 8 rushing attempts for 81 yards and 2 touchdowns. Boykins had 6 carries for 22 yards.
For Johnson Central (1-1), Jacob Grimm completed 1-of-3 passes for 20 yards. The lone reception was pulled in by Christian Barnes.
Logan Morrow had 17 carries for 81 yards. Logan Music had 80 yards and 1 touchdown on 12 rushing attempts. Barnes had 62 yards and 1 touchdown on 17 carries. Carter Conley had 12 carries for 54 yards. Dalton Matney chipped in 4 yards on 2 carries. Carter Hunt had 1 carry for 3 yards. Grimm added 2 yards on 1 rushing attempt.
Pikeville will play at Lexington Christian (1-1) on Saturday at 8 pm.
Johnson Central will visit Belfry (1-1) for a huge clash with the Pirates on Friday at 7:30 pm.
