The Pike County Central Hawks picked up a tough 9-6 win over the Martin County Cardinals on Friday in the Pike County Bowl at Belfry.
Jamere Knuckles led the Hawks (2-0) and picked up MVP honors by completing 3-of-9 passes for 15 yards and rushing 20 times for 130 yards and 1 touchdown.
Cameron Flannery also had 11 carries for 35 yards. Daymon Scammell added 1 yard on 3 rushing attempts.
Mason Hess hauled in 2 catches for 9 yards. Lane Adams had 1 reception for 6 yards.
Steven Gonzalez-Santes also added a crucial field goal for Pike County Central against the stingy Martin County (1-1) defense.
On defense, Malachi Anderson and Ethan Adkins had 11 tackles apiece. Mason Hess added 10 tackles in the win.
The Hawks will next play on Friday when they host Harlan at 7:30 pm.
Martin County will travel to Shelby Valley (1-1) next Friday in a 7:30 pm clash.
