Shelby Valley Shuts Out Lawrence County, 14-0

The Shelby Valley Wildcats got into the win column as they shut out the Lawrence County Bulldogs, 14-0, in the Lawrence County Farm Bureau Bowl on Friday in Louisa.

Quarterback Russ Osborne led the Wildcats (1-1) by completing 8-of-15 passes for 79 yards and 1 touchdown. He also had 12 rushing attempts for 61 yards and 1 touchdown.

Brett Sturgill had 54 yards on 13 carries. John Luke Fields added 8 carries for 48 yards. Jakob Childers added 41 yards on 4 rushing attempts. Brady Bentley added 5 yards on 1 carry.

Bentley led the Wildcat receivers with 4 catches for 34 yards and 1 touchdown. Fields had a reception for 17 yards. Jesse Cook hauled in a catch for 16 yards. Jonah Bartley had 1 reception for 11 yards. Sturgill had 1 catch for 1 yard.

Defensively, Osborne and Ean Ratliff added an interception each.

Shelby Valley will next play on Friday when they host Martin County (1-1) in a 7:30 pm contest.

Lawrence County (1-1) will host Perry County (2-0) on Friday at 7:30 pm.
