FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL PREVIEW: Cougars Look To Take Down Rams

The Letcher County Central Cougars look to jump out to a 2-0 start, but standing in their way is a formidable and hungry Raceland Rams squad.

Last week, the Cougars (1-0) got a huge opening week win over Shelby Valley and now welcome a Raceland (0-1) squad that suffered a tough loss to a very good Ashland squad.

For Letcher County Central, Isaac Matthews had a great game last week, rushing for 156 yards and 2 touchdowns on 15 rushing attempts. He will hope for a similar outing against the Ram defense. Quarterback Gunner Holbrook will hope to have another efficient outing after completing 5-of-9 passes for 60 yards and 1 touchdown last week. Defensively, Quinton Williams will look to have another monster outing after he had 16 tackles last week.

Raceland will be led by quarterback Logan Lundy. Against Ashland, Lundy completed 14-of-21 passes for 168 yards. He also had 30 yards rushing and 1 touchdown on the ground. The Rams will also need a strong team rushing attack. Last week, Noah Wallace had 40 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns. Parker Fannin was the go to receiver last week, catching 6 passes for 79 yards.

This will be a huge game for both teams. The opening kick is scheduled for 8 pm at Letcher County Central.
