FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL PREVIEW: Belfry Looks To Pluck Cardinals In Pike County Bowl

The Belfry Pirates look to build off last week’s dominating win over Breathitt County as the 6A George Rogers Clark Cardinals come calling in the Pike County Bowl on Friday night.

The Pirates (1-0) were dominating last week as Caden Woolum had a monster game with 3 catches for 145 yards and 3 touchdowns, as well as 103 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground. Chase Varney completed 3-of-4 passes, all of them to Woolum for his totals. Ace Caudill also had a fantastic game, rushing for 148 yards and 2 touchdowns on only 5 carries.

Standing in Belfry’s way is a strong George Rogers Clark (0-1) squad that is hungry for a win.

Sam Clements will start at quarterback after completing 8-of-23 passes for 128 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. Clements also had 83 yards rushing. The Pirates will also need to stop Hayden Heath who had 52 yards and 1 touchdown last week.

The opening kick is set for 9:35 pm at Belfry.
