The Martin County Cardinals started their season with a 20-7 win on Friday night in Inez.
For the Cardinals, Jackson Miller was 4-of-10 passing for 67 yards and 1 interception.
Brock Messer led Martin County in rushing with 102 yards and 1 touchdown on 14 carries. Aiden Horn had 10 carries for 41 yards and 1 touchdown. Madden Miller had 34 yards on 9 carries.
Brayden Estep had 1 catch for 42 yards. Dray Duff had 1 catch for 22 yards. Devan Maynard finished with 1 catch for 5 yards. Julian Stafford also had a reception.
Martin County will face Pike County Central at 6 pm on Friday at Belfry in the Pike County Bowl. Hazard will host Harlan County at home on Friday at 7:30 pm.
