The Phelps Junior High School girls basketball program after not having a team last year.
The Lady Hornets will be young with very little experience but will have two leaders with JV and high school varsity experience. 8th grader Kaylin Slone should be the top player on the Phelps team after playing on both the varsity and JV teams last season, including recording some varsity starts last season.
Morgan Dotson is the other 8th grader on the squad and also boasts some JV and varsity experience that should help out the Jr High Lady Hornets.
The team begins its season on Friday. A schedule is posted below.
