Pikeville’s Trinity Rowe, highly regarded as the best girls basketball player in the Mountains, chose to accept a scholarship to play at the University of Southern Mississippi on Thursday.
Rowe had a fantastic junior season for the Lady Panthers. She scored 16.2 points per game while shooting 51.4% from the field, including connecting on 50% of her 3-point field goals. Rowe also pulled down 2.5 rebounds per game on a Pikeville squad that finished 28-6 on the season.
The Lady Panthers are loaded this upcoming season as Rowe looks to help lead them to another successful season.
As for her next hardwood home, the Southern Miss Lady Eagles finished with a 21-10 record last season before bowing out in the Sun Belt Conference semifinals. Rowe will hope to continue both her personal success and the Lady Eagles’ success.
