Logan Little League Softball Has A Lot To Be Proud Of

Logan fell to Georgia, 6-0, in the Little League Softball Southeast Region Tournament on Wednesday. While the loss ended Logan’s hopes of advancing to the Little League Softball World Series, the team provided its community with a lot of excitement and gave them something to be proud of.

Quite frankly, Logan was a juggernaut in the West Virginia state tournament. They outscored opponents 39-2 over four games, including a 2-0 win over Hite Saunders in the championship game. At that point, the team donned jerseys to represent West Virginia.

Logan represented the Mountain State with pride in the regional tournament in Warner Robins, GA. First, they faced Tennessee in what was a fantastic game that ended up being a heart-breaking 3-1 loss. Still, the girls rebounded in a big way.

Logan faced South Carolina next. They battered the representative of the Palmetto State, 11-1, and had got a four inning no-hitter from Emma Lackey in the process. The ESPN announce crew showered the squad with nothing but praise.

Then came the Georgia game. Things didn’t go well for Logan, and that’s just how sports work out sometimes. Teams have good and bad games. However, it doesn’t diminish what they accomplished to get there.

They won a state championship and then eliminated another state’s champion from the region tournament. There aren’t many all-star teams across the country that can say that. Wednesday was disappointing for the team, but hopefully they all can realize just what they accomplished and how incredibly rare those accomplishments are.

Thank you for representing you league, community, region and state to the best of your ability and showing everyone that we play a little softball around these parts.
