The Logan 10-12 Little League Softball All-Stars jumped on the board early and never looked back as they stormed past Moorefield, 21-2, to reach the state championship round on Monday in Barboursville.
At the plate, Emma Lackey was 3-of-3 with a home run, 4 RBI and 2 runs scored. Miley Fleming was 2-of-3 with a double, a triple, 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. Kristi Dress was 3-of-3 with a double, 6 RBI and 2 runs scored. Mollie Barnette went 2-of-3 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Lilly Fleming had a triple, 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. Addison Starr had a double, 2 RBI and 1 run scored. Addison Dotson added a single, 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. Rylee Miller singled with 1 run scored. Katie Hall scored 2 runs. Lena Setser added 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Zoe Chaney scored 1 run.
Lackey got the win in the pitcher’s circle after allowing 2 runs on 1 hit while striking out 6 batters. Barnette pitched 1 inning, allowing no hits and striking out 2 batters.
Logan now advances to the state championship on Tuesday against Hite Saunders, a 5-2 winner over Boone Northern on Monday. The opening pitch is set for noon.
