The Man 9-11 Softball All-Stars won two games over the weekend to win the Mountaineer bracket and advance to the West Virginia 9-11 state semifinals in Hedgesville.

Man scored 5 runs in the first inning and never looked back as they hammered Wayne, 12-2, in 5 innings.
Lydia Smith led the way at the plate, with a double, 1 RBI and 3 runs scored. Carly Caserta had a single and 2 runs scored. Mia Johnson added a single 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. Rylee Osborne had a single, 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. Macy Corns had a single and 2 RBI. Arionna Robertson had 1 RBI and 3 runs scored. Erika Mullins finished with 1 RBI.
Johnson was excellent in the Pitcher’s circle, allowing only 2 unearned runs on 1 hit while striking out 12 batters.

Johnson put up another impressive pitching effort as Man picked up the win over Jefferson, 5-1.
Johnson allowed only 1 unearned run on 2 hits while recording 15 strikeouts to get the wn.
At the plate, Johnson was 2-of-3 with a double, 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Mullins was 2-of-3 with a double and 1 RBI. Osborne was 2-of-3 with 1 run scored. Caserta added a single with 2 runs scored. Smith had a single and 1 run scored. Gracie Wheatley had a single and 2 RBI. Caitlyn Salter finished with a single.
Man will next play on Tuesday when they face the Herd bracket runners-up, which will be determined on Monday, at 5 pm.
