The Johnson Central Lady Golden Eagles hammered 4 home runs to defeat the Lawrence County Lady Bulldogs, 13-5, to win the 15th Region Title on Wednesday at Stonecrest Sports Complex in Prestonsburg.
For Johnson Central, Mayson Delong was 3-of-4 with a home run, 2 RBI and 4 runs scored. Keylee Blair was 2-of-4 with a home run , 2 RBI and 1 run scored. Adyson Burchett was 2-of-4 with 2 runs scored. Josie Dials was 2-of-4. Randi Delong had a home run, 4 RBI and I run scored. Sophie Younce had a homer, 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Madelyn Vaughn added a double with 2 RBI and 1 run scored. Abbie Stambaugh finished with a single and 1 run scored.
Vaughn got the win in the pitcher’s circle, allowing 4 earned runs on 7 hits while striking out 9 batters.
Johnson Central will next play in the 2023 Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Softball State Tournament presented by UK HealthCare on Thursday, June 1st at 11 am against the Region 9 champion.
