Logan Beats Winfield In Regional Playoffs, 2-1

The Logan Wildcats scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning as they defeated the Winfield Generals, 2-1, on Monday to take Game 1 of the Regional Championship series in Logan.

After the first two runners walked, Ryan Roberts stepped up with 1 out and singled to right field to drive in McCormick Ilderton. On the same play, Winfield committed a fielding error to led Dawson Maynard score.

The score remained the same until the top of the 4th inning when Winfield’s Dylan Kuhl crushed a home run to left field to make it a 2-1 game. From there, neither team would score again.

Maynard got the win for the Wildcats, allowing 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 7 batters. Karson Frye got the loss for the Generals, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits while striking out 7 batters.

Winfield will host Logan in the send game in the Best-of-3 series on Tuesday.
