Johnson Central Knocks Pike County Central Out Of 15th Region Tournament

The Johnson Central Golden Eagles defeated the Pike County Central Hawks, 2-0, in the semifinals of the 15th Region Tournament on Monday at Stonestreet Sports Complex.

The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the 5th inning when the Golden Eagles took the lead when Ethan McCarty stole home plate for a 1-0 advantage. Two batters later, Cameron Kelsey scored on a wild pitch to make it 2-0. No other runs would be scored after that.

On the mound, Hunter Blevins was fantastic, allowing only 4 singles while striking out 8 batters. Blake Hager was very good in defeated for the Hawks, allowing 2 runs on 1 hit while striking out 6 batters in 5 innings pitched.

Johnson Central will play Pikeville in the 15th Region Championship on Wednesday at the Stonestreet Sports Complex.
