The Pikeville girls and Raceland boys each captured 1A Region 7 championships and other athletes also qualified for the state track championships.
In girls, Pikeville took place with a score of 132.50 points. Menifee County was second with 88. Raceland was third with 48. Listed are the top two finishers in each competition. The top two automatically qualify for the state championships.
In the shot put, Pikeville’s Rylee Theiss won with a mark of 32-8.50. Leighan Jackson was second at 30-11. In the discus, Bath County’s Alyssa Dyer placed first at 98-4. Theiss was second at 97-9. Paintsville’s Olivia Maynard was first with a distance of 15-9. Piarist’s Porsche Reichenbach was second at 15.1.50. Menifee County’s Shalyne Baker won at 31-6. Phelps’ Amelia Casey was second at 31-5.50. Paintsville’s Maynard won the high jump at 4-8. Menifee County’s Payton Burgess was second with a height of 4-6. Sophie Hale of Raceland won the pole vault at 7-6. Bath County’s Jaelyn Gibson was second at 7-6.
In the 4x800m relay, Jenkins (Emma Stewart, Makayla Morris, Ashley Fields and Alyssa Fields) won with a time of 12:10.15. West Carter (Alexis Bond, Jaci Cooley, Destiny Davis and Brooke Wolfe) was second at 12:11.04. Raceland’s Sophie Maynard won the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.42. Pikeville’s Nicole Lin was second at 17.44. Shelby Valley’s Faith Newsome won in the 100m dash at 13.41. Karly Williams was second with a time of 13.56. Pikeville (Lin, Ava Rogers, Kristen Whited and Kylie Hall) won the 4x200m relay with a time of 1:56.29. Menifee County (Andi Wells, Baker, Burgess and Taylor Parks) was second at 2:00.23. In the 1600m run, Pikeville’s Cadence Compton was first at 6:11.79. Menifee County’s Triniti Blankenship was second at 6:16.36. In the 4x100m relay, Pikeville (Lin, Rogers, Whited and Hall) won with a time of 53.69. Shelby Valley (Sierra Allen, Desiree McClanahan, Gabrielle Allen and Faith Newsome) finished second at 55.37. Betsy Layne’s Karly Williams won the 400m dash at 1:04.15. Shelby Valley’s Newsone was second at 1:05.60. In the 300m hurdles, Raceland’s Sophie Maynard won with a time of 49.78. Menifee County’s Burgess was second at 52.87. In the 800m run, Menifee County’s Parks was first at 2:32.85. Bath County’s Bayley French was second at 2:37.06. In the Betsy Layne’s Williams was first in the 200m dash at 27.43. Shelby Valley’s Newsome was second at 28.38. Pikeville’s Compton was first in the 3200m run at 13:56.60. Raceland’s Mason Lykins was second at 5-10. Raceland’s Xander Jenkins won the pole vault at 11-0. Bath County’s Nathan Roark was second with 10-6.
