Hillbillies Knock Panthers Out Of Sectional Tournament

The 2nd seed Man Hillbillies came back from a 7-5 deficit after the game was suspended to grab an 11-7 win over the 4th seed Tug Valley Panthers in the sectional tournament on Monday.

Man ended Tug Valley’s season after the game originally began on Friday but was suspended in the middle of the 5th inning due to rain. The field was still unplayable on Saturday, so the teams decided to finish it up today.

The Hillbillies then scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to take control of the contest and get the win.

For Man, Jace Adkins was 3-of-5 with 2 doubles, a stolen base and 3 runs scored. Bo Thompson was 3-of-5 with a double and 1 run scored. Cameron Gerace was 2-of-3 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Colton Miller, Kaden Dickerson and Brayden Compton all had singles.

Tug Valley was led by Conner Lacker at the plate by batting 2-of-3 with a stolen base, 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Julian Vance, Brayden Dotson, Dakota Ooten, Elijah Fluty , Zachary Hall and Chandler Copley all had singles.

John McCoy got the win for Man after allowing no hits and striking out 3 batters after 1-2/3 innings pitched. Vance was given the loss for Tug Valley.

Man will play at top seed Buffalo in the championship round on Tuesday.
