Abby Barnett smacked two home runs in the same inning as the Magoffin County Lady Hornets beat the Floyd Central Lady Jaguars, 13-4, on Thursday in Salyersville.
Barnett also had 4 home runs and 2 runs scored in the win. Also for the Hornets, Katie Howard had a homer, 2 RBI and 1 run scored. Kayleigh Lemaster, Kiley Lemaster, Jaden Williams, Jaylynn Lafferty and Rylie Castle had two hits apiece.
Williams got the win in the pitcher’s circle, allowing only 1 earned hit on 3 hits while striking out 8 batters in 7 innings pitched.
The Hornets will now head into district tournament play.
