The 4th seed Tug Valley Panthers pounded out 10 hits as they eliminated the 6th seed Tolsia Rebels, 14-4, on Wednesday in Naugatuck.
The Panthers were led at the plate by Dakota Ooten who was 3-of-4 with a double, a triple, a home run, 4 RBI and 2 runs scored. Zachary Hall was 3-of-4 with 2 stolen bases, a double, 2 RBI and 1 run scored. Julian Vance, Austin Smith, Gage Whitt and Ashton Smith all had singles in the win.
For Tolsia, Brayden Mollette was 2-of-3 with a home run, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Colton Austin, Cameron Perkins and Ben Clayton all had singles.
Hall picked up the win for Tug Valley, allowing only 2 earned runs on 3 hits while striking out 4 batters over 2-2/3 innings pitched. David Dingess was given the loss for Tolsia.
Tug Valley will now play the winner of Sherman vs Van on Thursday.
