The 3rd seed Scott Skyhawks took advantage of 5 errors to eliminate the 5th seed Mingo Central Miners from the sectional tournament on Wednesday.
Scott was led at the plate by Sam Cook, who was 2-of-3 with a stolen base, 3 RBI and 1 run scored. Hayden Johnson was 1-of-2 with 3 stolen bases and 2 runs scored. Ryan Neal was 1-of-2.
KJ Smith had Mingo Central’s only hit and recorded the lone RBI for the Miners.
Kedron Elkins got the win on the mound for Scott, allowing only 1 hit and striking out 8 batters over 5 innings pitched. Chris Ross got the loss for Mingo Central.
Scott will next host Wayne on Thursday in an elimination game.
