The Pike County Central Lady Hawks built a lead early and held off a late Hazard run to pike up an 8-6 win on Monday.
The Lady Hawks were led at the plate by Emalie Tackett, who was 2-of-3 with 2 home runs, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Taylor Hannah was 2-of-4 with a home run, 3 RBI and 1 run scored. Liv Sanders was 2-of-4 with a double and 1 RBI. Chloe Hannah had a double. Abby Hess, Kaiden Hess, Cailyn Holbrook, Sydney Thompson and Hannah May all had singles.
Chloe Hannah picked up the win in the pitcher’s circle. She allowed 4 earned runs on 6 hits while striking out 9 batters over 7 innings.
Pike County Central will next play on Tuesday when Magoffin County comes to visit.
