The Pike County Central Hawks got 7 runs in the 1st inning and never looked back as they routed the Phelps Hornets, 19-4, on Thursday.
For the Hawks, Peyton Compton was 3-of-3 with 2 stolen bases, 1 RBI and 3 runs scored. Blake Hager was 2-of-3 with 2 stolen bases, 4 RBI and 1 run score. Kaden Crum was 3-of-4 with 2 stolen bases, 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Caleb Mouton, Cameron Shearer and Warren Newsome all had singles.
On the mound, Shearer got the win after allowing 4 earned run on 5 hits while striking out 3 batters over 1-2/3 innings.
The Hawks will next play at Tug Valley on Friday. The opening pitch is set for 6 pm.
