The Belfry Pirates never trailed as the took home a comfortable, 15-5, win over the Man Hillbillies on Thursday at Belfry High School.
The Pirates were led at the plate by Jonathan Banks, who went 2-of-3 with 2 doubles, 1 RBI and 3 runs scored. Isaiah Stanley was 2-of-5 with a double, 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. Chase Varney was 2-of-4 with 1 RBI. Noah Brown had a grand slam, 4 RBI and 1 run scored. Jake Varney had a double, 1 RBI and 3 runs scored. Devin Jude added a double. Jonah Adkins had a single and 1 run scored.
Chase Varney got the win on the mound, allowing 4 runs on 2 hits while recording 8 strikeouts in 5 innings.
For Man, Braxton Messer had 2 hits and stole home plate. Bo Thompson and Luke Haney each had a hit in the defeat. Messer also was given the loss on the mound.
