The Pike County Central Lady Hawks jumped ahead in the first inning and never looked back as they defeated the Pikeville Lady Panthers, 8-1, on Monday.
Liv Sanders led the Lady Hawks by batting 3-of-3 with a home run, a double, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Chloe Hannah was 3-of-4 with a double, a triple and 3 RBI. Emalie Tackett was 2-of-3 with 2 runs scored. Hannah May was 2-of-3 with a stolen base, 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Taylor Hannah and Kaiden Hess had singles.
For Pikeville, Cassidy Slater, Gracie Hall, Cate Salyers and Molly Coleman all had hits in the loss.
Hannah allowed only 1 unearned run and 4 hits to go with 15 strikeouts in 7 innings to get the win. Lexie Akers was given the loss for Pikeville.
Pike County Central is scheduled to play at Phelps on Tuesday. Pikeville will host East Ridge on Tuesday.
