The Logan Wildcats jumped on top in the 1st inning and held on for a strong 7-2 win over the Herbert Hoover Huskies on Tuesday.
The Wildcats scored in the bottom of the 1st inning when Dawson Maynard crossed home plate on a sacrifice fly for a 1-0 lead. The advantage grew in the bottom of the 2nd inning when R Roberts singled home Aiden Slack. Then, Jarron Glick was able to bring I Miller home on a single to right field. Roberts scored on a sacrifice later in the inning to make it a 4-0 score.
Slack then scored on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 3rd inning to increase the Wildcat lead to 5-0. The score remained the same until the bottom of the 5th inning when D Quick scored on a passed ball. K Lowe then scored on a fielder’s choice to make it a 7-0 score.
Herbert Hoover would tack on two runs, but it wouldn’t matter as the Wildcats earned the win.
Logan will next play on Thursday when they battle Nitro.
