Skyhawks Soar Past Sissonville, 3-1

The Scott Skyhawks scored two runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to defeat the Sissonville Indians, 3-1, on Monday.

The Skyhawks jumped on the board first in the bottom of the 1st inning when Jason Ferrell scored on and error for a 1-0 lead. The score remained the same until the top of the 6th inning. Sissonville was able to score to tie the game up at 1-1.

Scott then went ahead in the bottom of the 6th inning when Hayden Johnson singled to left field, scoring Caleb Vance. The Skyhawks added one more run in the inning when Austin Light scored on an infield single from Carter McClung for a 3-1 win.

Griffin Miller was brilliant on the mound for the Skyhawks. He only allowed 1 run on 1 hit and recorded 11 strikeouts to earn the win.

Scott will next play on Friday at Point Pleasant.
