The Wayne Pioneers picked up two wins over the Elkins Tigers in a doubleheader on Saturday.
Wayne 20, Elkins 10
The Pioneers jumped out early and never looked back as they defeated Elkins, 20-10, in the first game.
Brady Dyer was 2-of-4 with a double, 3 RBI and 3 runs scored. Logan Prater was 2-of-4 with 2 RBI and 2 Runs scored. Levi Cassidy batted 2-of-5 with a double, 1 RBI and 4 runs scored. Parker Adkins homered in his only at bat and recorded 3 RBI with a run scored.
Brayden Jackson earned the win on the mound after allowing 2 earned runs and 4 hits while striking out 3 batters over 2-1/3 innings.
Wayne 11, Elkins 8
Cassidy was 2-of-3 with 2 runs scored. Fisher Fry was 2-of-3 with a double, 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. Dyer was 2-of-4 with 2 RBI and 1 run scored. Braxton Marcum was 2-of-4 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored.
Prater picked up the win on the mound, allowing no runs on 3 hits while striking out 8 batters in 4-2/3 innings.
Wayne will next play on Tuesday against Grace Christian.
