East Ridge & Pikeville Perform Well At Prestonsburg Track & Field Meet

Pikeville’s girls finished in first place and athletes from both Pikeville and East Ridge performed well in the Prestonsburg Track & Field Meet on Tuesday.

For Pikeville, the girls captured first place overall, and the boys were second at the meet.

In the girls 1600 m race, Rylee Theiss broke Cadence Compton’s school record and finished in first place with a time of 5:53.63. Teammates Kenzie Thornberry and Chloe Lazenka was second and third, respectfully. In the100 m hurdles, Nicole Lin was first with a time of 17.56. Olivia Hamilton was second and Shyla Kidd was third. Ava Rogers was second in the 100 m dash at 13.58. Kylie Hall was third at 13.64. The team of Lin, Hall, Maria Perez and Rogers won the 4×200 m relay with a time of 1:59.07. Lin, Rogers, Hamilton and Hall won the 4×100 m relay with a time of 55.75. Thornberry was second in the 400 m dash at 1:16.94. Kidd won the 300 m hurdles at 57.62. Trinity Rowe won the 800 m race at 2:55.28. Thornberry placed third. Hall was second in the 200 m at 28.30. Rowe was first in the 3200 m run at 14:24.06. Thornberry placed second in the race. The 4×400 m relay squad of Layla Windle, Sara Kate Howard, Paula Patton and Rogers finished second at 5:51.03. Paula Patton placed fourth in the long jump at 12-06.00. Theiss won the shot put with a distance of 31-03.00. Leighan Jackson was second in the shot put at 28-01.00

For the Pikeville boys, Jacob Rogers was third in the 100 m at 11.80. The Boys 4×200 m relay team of Isaac Coleman, Keaton Looney, Ethan Richardson and Lucas Gayheart was third at 2:02.00. Rylan Keathley was second in the 1600 m race. The 4×100 m relay team of Logan Reed, Blake Birchfield, Eli Johnson and Rogers placed second at 46.93. Gaige Conn placed third in the 300 m hurdles with a time of 50.65. Carter Hurley was first in the 800 m race with a time of 2:02.30. Rylan Keathley was third in the race. Cole Slone was fifth in the 200 m race at 25.92. Daylan Keathley was third in the 3200 m run at 12:00.69. Rogers placed second in the long jump at 19-05.25. Drew Ferguson won the shot put with a distance of 43-06.00. Grant Scott was second in the event. Rogers won the triple jump with a mark of 40-02.00.

East Ridge’s boys performed well also. Gavin Cantrell was second in the 110 m hurdles with a time of 22.08. Aiden Smallwood was fourth and set a personal record in the 100 m dash at 11.80. Brayden Sayers was third in the 1600 m run at 5:16.28. Cantrell was second in the 400 m dash with a personal record time of 1:03.00. Cantrell was third in the 300 m hurdles at 54.11. Sayers placed second in the 3200 m run with a personal record time of 11:29.57. Zack Mason was fourth in the long jump at 18-07.00. Mason was eighth in the shot put with a a personal record distance of 31-03.00. Anthony Cummings placed 10th with a personal record of 28-06.00.

East Ridge’s girls also had some great performances. Lauren Mann was third in the long jump with a personal record of 14-02.00. Pamela Gommels was fifth in the shot put with a distance of 25-02.75.
