Pioneers Rally Past Sissonville In Extra Innings, 4-3

The Wayne Pioneers scored 3 runs in the 7th inning to force extra innings and then scored in the 8th inning to earn a 4-3 comeback win over the Sissonville Indians on Wednesday.

The Indians jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st inning and then a 3-0 advantage in the 3rd inning. The score remained the same until the top of the 7th inning.

Brayden Jackson singled home Austin Porter to make it 3-1. Fisher Fry then smacked a single to center field, bringing Levi Queen home to make it a 3-2 score. Jackson then scored on a wild pitch to knot the score up at 3-3 and force extra innings.

Levi Cassidy started off the top of the 8th inning with a single to center field. He later scored the winning run later in the inning on a wild pitch.

Logan Prater earned the win for Wayne, allowing no hits and striking out 2 batters in 4 innings on the mound.

Wayne next plays on Friday when it battles the Chapmanville Tigers. The opening pitch is set for 7 pm out Wayne.
