Jonah Little struck out 13 batters as the Letcher County Central Cougars defeated the Pike County Central Hawks, 5-1, on Tuesday in the 2A baseball sectional in Louisa.
Little did not allow an earned run and gave up only 2 hits over 7 innings for the win.
Paul Huff was 2-of-3 at the plate with 1 run scored. Aiden Fields had 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Max Roark added 1 RBI. Quinton Williams scored 2 runs and Canaan Herrell scored a run in the victory.
The Hawks were led by Caleb Mouton was 1-of-3 with 1 RBI. Isaac Blankenship was 1-of-3. Blake Hager scored Pike County Central’s only run.
Hager also pitched well in a losing effort, allowing on 1 earned run on 1 hit while striking out 13 batters in 5-1/3 innings.
The Cougars are set to play Lawrence County on Thursday.
