The Belfry Pirates picked up a 9-1 win at East Ridge on Thursday.
Jonah Adkins pitched a complete game, allowing 4 hits while striking out 10 batters. He also added a single at the plate.
Jonathan Banks had a double to drive in a run. Isaiah Stanley, Noah Brown and Chase Varney added singles in the win.
Braxton Kendrick was given the loss for East Ridge. Dylan Burdine, Hayden Robinette, Steven Layne and Brady Miller all had singles for the Warriors
Belfry’s Adkins and Varney have formed a powerful 1-2 punch on the mound this season. Both pitchers have an ERA under 1.50 this season. Varney’s next start is Friday against Betsy Layne. East Ridge will play at Pikeville at Monday.
