Jaguars Hammer Hawks, 14-3

The Floyd Central Jaguars blew open a close game with 10 runs in the 5th inning to defeat the Pike County Central Hawks on the road.

After Floyd Central took a 4-0 lead in the top of the 3rd inning, the Hawks battled back to cut the lead to 4-3 in the bottom of the 4th inning. However, the Jaguars then blew the game open with 10 runs in the top of the 5th inning to get the win.

At the plate, Nick Rackley was 2-for-4 with a double, 2 RBI and 1 run scored. Jacob Bentley was 1-for-3 with a double, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Jace Martin was 1-for-2 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Grant Jenkins batted 1-for-3 with 2 RBI and 1 run scored.

Logan Moore earned the win on the mound, allowing only 1 earned run and 3 hits while striking out 4 batters in 3 and 2/3 innings.

For Pike County Central, Cameron Shearer was 2-for-3 with a double, 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Blake Hager was 1-for-2 with 1 RBI. Kaden Crum and Warren Newsome also had hits.

On the mound, Hager was credited with the loss.

Floyd Central will travel to Magoffin County for a clash with the Hornets on Wednesday. The Hawks will host Phelps on Thursday.
