Lady Panthers Claw Mingo Central, 15-2

The Tug Valley Lady Panthers scored early and often as they blasted the Mingo Central Lady Miners, 15-2, on Thursday.

Tug Valley got off to a good start in the top of the 1st inning when Haleigh Muncy singled to left field, scoring Kinna Justice for a 1-0 lead. Muncy later scored on a Jessica Spaulding ground out for a 2-0 lead. McKynnli Farley extended the lead in the top of the 2nd inning when she singled to bring in Hailey Newsome. Bailee Hall then smacked a single to left field, bringing Farley home. Muncy then hit a two-run double. Muncy later scored on an error to make it a 7-0 game.

Hall would score on an error in the top of the 3rd inning for an 8-0 lead. The next inning, Amelya Wellman scored on a sacrifice fly. Farley then added run-scoring single to center field. Spaulding scored on an error on the play. Hall then cranked out a three-run homer to make it a 14-0 game. The Lady Panthers would keep control from there.

Justice earned the win in the pitcher’s circle, allowing only 3 hits in 5 innings pitched while striking out 9 batters.

Tug Valley will next play at Chapmanville on Wednesday.
